Course Instructor(s)

  • Danielle Novik, PhD

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly 25 years of experience. I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Cognitive Science from Hampshire College and a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. My clinical training includes an APA-accredited psychology internship at the New Orleans Veterans Affairs Medical Center and a two-year APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan.

My clinical expertise lies in the assessment and treatment of recurrent mood and bipolar disorders, particularly during reproductive life events, and the delivery of Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT).

My career includes providing direct evidence-based clinical services and assessment; working as a clinical trainer and clinical consultant (locally, nationally, and internationally); participating in community psychoeducation and outreach efforts; and conducting research. I am a certified supervisor and trainer with the International Society of Interpersonal Psychotherapy (ISIPT). I also serve on ISIPT’s Executive Board and co-lead the ISIPT Special Interest Group for IPSRT. I am an author of more than 40 peer-reviewed and invited publications.

During my personal time, I love gardening (even in winter), walking my wild, sweet dog (except in rain), cooking (but not baking), and making things. I dedicate time to social activism and volunteer work.

In my professional and personal life, I strive to be inclusive and welcoming, value diverse experiences and perspectives, and engage in continuous self-reflection and growth.
