About this live event
This workshop will explore foundational knowledge on the topic of trauma and trauma recovery, with special attention on the potential impact of trauma upon one’s spirituality and/or religious beliefs alongside potential emotional, physiological, and relational sequelae of trauma. Topics pertinent to trauma within spiritual communities will also be discussed, including recent research on the prevalence of trauma and secondary trauma among religious leaders as well as research on the topic of clergy sexual misconduct. Clinical implications as well as implications on trauma-informed care for religious communities will conclude the workshop.
